Bermuda Heroes Weekend, one of the island’s biggest and most extravagant summer celebrations takes place in June every year. It’s a carnival-style party which features local cuisine, soca music, a parade of bands, boat rides, some of the world’s best steel pan musicians and so much more.
From the all-night J’Ouvert Celebration to the Race Day Raft Up, here are 13 carnival-related things to do in Bermuda in June.
Think of this as the perfect precursor to the main event involving the entire family. Typically held at Victoria Park in the city of Hamilton, the weekend kicks off with a mini-parade of bands, delicious food and plenty of entertainment for the little ones to enjoy.
Kicking off Bermuda Heroes Weekend with a lively start, this is an open-air concert where you can dance the night away to the sounds of some of the greatest soca musicians on the planet.
Taking place at City Hall Car Park from 7PM until midnight (or later!), this year you’ll be treated to soca artists like Teddyson John, Lyrikal, Voice and Kerwin Du Bois.

With a different theme each year, Evolve is another event that signals the start of the carnival weekend in Bermuda in June.
You’ll need a ticket to take part in the dressed-up, sunset fête at Fort Hamilton.

Mimosa Sunrise is a drinks-exclusive activity in June during the carnival weekend featuring local and international talent - as well as some surprises in store each year. You’ll be enjoying a VIP-style cruise before dawn to a private island to toast the sunshine.
Sick Leave is the ultimate ditch day fête during the carnival weekend as soca takes to the high seas aboard the MV Longtail with drinks, carnival vibes and international DJs. You’ll be seeing plenty of Bermudians ducking their bosses all over the island - hence the name.
Now it wouldn’t be a Bermuda celebration without a little time spent on the beautiful turquoise water, would it? The BHW Raft Up event is a soca-fuelled party that floats. Everyone heads to the Great Sound near Morgan’s Point on the flotation device of their choice - ready to soak up the sun.
Plus, there are DJs spinning from a floating platform at Shelly Bay. What’s not to love?
If you’re after late-night drinking, dancing and generally having a good time, then look no further than Euphoria. Living up to its namesake, this is the ultimate concert. The after-dark soca beach party is guaranteed to leave you wanting more.
Make sure you’ve packed your best swimwear for the Wetta Bermuda event during the BHW carnival weekend. Held at Tobacco Bay, get ready for plenty of soca, water, liquor and unlimited vibes. Just a heads up, Wetta Bermuda is a wet event so be prepared!
Adding a touch of sophistication, Glow Bermuda is an all-white sunset enchanted garden party.
You’ll be treated to amazing food stations full of variety and speciality drinks. Be quick, though, as a private cabana is the perfect way to experience Glow so reserve your spot beforehand.
Taking place at Bermuda National Sports Centre, Pure Bermuda is a white party and concert featuring top international reggae artists, Shenseea and Destra.
You’ll also experience some of Bermuda’s best supporting music acts - the perfect evening fête ahead of National Heroes Day.
Join fellow revelers and party at this dawn-breaking, paint-slinging party ‘til the sun comes up at Moresby Plain, Dockyard. The J’Ouvert Celebration is packed full of sweet soca music, amazing cuisine and legendary drinks.
You’ll have everything you need to fuel you until dawn.
Join the Parade of Bands as they dance through the picturesque Hamilton. Starting at noon on a Saturday, the beautiful streets are filled with thousands of people all dancing to the beat of several bands who travel along in trucks.
Either watch the festivities from the sidewalk or join in and have a blast.
