10 Romantic Things to Do in Bermuda in March

7 minute read

Valentine’s Day has been and gone, but there are still plenty of romantic activities for you to enjoy with your significant other here in Bermuda. Spending the afternoon snorkeling or finding the perfect picnic spot to watch the sunset are just two of the most romantic things to do in Bermuda in March.

Romantic Activities in Bermuda

Many of the activities on our list involve Bermuda’s staggeringly beautiful scenery. There really is no other place like it and the sights have to be seen to be truly appreciated. We’ll try our best to do the amazing beaches, coastlines and parks justice.

  1. Stroll Down Lover's Lane (near Paget Marsh)
  2. Take a Dip at Blue Hole Park
  3. Enjoy a Picnic at Warwick Long Bay
  4. Take a Sunset Cruise
  5. Explore St. George's Unfinished Church
  6. Enjoy a Cinema Date
  7. Horseback Riding on the Beach
  8. Kiss Under a Moongate for Good Luck
  9. Cocktails and a Romantic Meal for Two

1. Stroll Down Lover’s Lane (near Paget Marsh)

It’s right there in the name. Lover’s Lane is perfect for brand new couples, newlyweds and partners that have been happily married for decades. The path through the Nature Reserve takes you through beautiful lush woodland that’s bursting with color and the harmonies of Bermudian wildlife.

As you stroll together under the cedar trees, you can enjoy the songs of tropical birds coming from above.

2. Take a Dip at Blue Hole Park

This romantic spot at Blue Hole Park can be a little tricky to find but it’s absolutely worth it. Not only are there caves to explore and beautiful jungle to walk through, but there’s also the Blue Hole itself. The mangrove pond features crystal clear water that’s calm and deep.

It’s the perfect spot to have a little swim with your significant other (and the amazing fish that are there too).

3. Enjoy a Picnic at Warwick Long Bay

There isn’t really a bad place to have a picnic in Bermuda, but Warwick Long Bay is certainly one of the best. It’s unspoilt and uncommercialized. Grab some local delicacies and a bottle of wine and find the perfect spot to watch the ocean roll in and the sun set.

There’s a reason this area is known for a high number of marriage proposals.

4. Take a Sunset Cruise

There are countless places on the island to enjoy an unforgettable sunset. But perhaps the best place to watch the sun sink below the horizon is out on the water. Sail Bermuda offer some super sunset tours, or take the fast Ferry to Dockyard and back.

Take a sunset cruise, enjoy a glass of champagne and take in the stunning views.

5. Explore St. George’s Unfinished Church

The Unfinished Church is popular with couples thanks to the fusion of the original architecture with the grass and nature that now blankets the floor. Because there’s no ceiling, visitors enjoy a beautiful sky view above the sprawling arches and walls.

It’s straight out of a fairytale and is often the venue for weddings because of its tranquil and romantic feel.

6. Enjoy the Arts

If you’re looking for romantic things to do in Bermuda and you love the Arts, in January and February each year we have the Bermuda Festival, which invites artists from all over the world to perform on Bermuda’s stage.

In March each year, visitors can enjoy the Bermuda International Film Festival. Plus we have a very active local Amateur Dramatic Society who put on all sorts of different productions.

Then there is the Gilbert & Sullivan Society and their Autumn Show extravaganza. There are also several local cinemas with year-round programs, including the one at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI). There’s something to suit all genres and interests both in March and throughout the year.

7. Horseback Riding on the Beach

Whether you’re an experienced rider or a complete beginner, you’ll have the most amazing time riding horses on the beach. Couples can book private trail rides and meander happily along the stunning northeast coastline.

Between September and March, you can take the horses from the sand into the shallow waters, giving you a truly a once in a lifetime experience.

8. Kiss Under a Moongate for Good Luck

Throughout Bermuda, you may come across limestone circular passageways in the shape of a horseshoe. These are Moongates. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also said to bring good luck to any couple that steps through them together.

Take part in the tradition, share a kiss and take the perfect couple’s photo that you can treasure forever.
